Bag Chateau Fonplégade Grand Cru Classé står amerikanske Denise og Stephen Adams, som sideløbende driver velrennomérede Chateau L'Enclos (Pomerol) samt det økologiske White Cottage Winery (Napa Valley).

Flagskibet i porteføljen er dog Fonplégade, som Adams-familien siden 2004 har ført op i St.-Émilions 1. division. Beplantningstætheden er øget til 8.400 stokke pr hektar og udbyttet sænket til 30 hl/ha. Røddernes skærpede kamp om vand og næringsstoffer giver færre og mindre druer – af langt højere kvalitet.

Fonplegades 18,5 hektar er perfekt beliggende nær Pavie 1. Grand Cru Classé samt Ausone, på den historiske skråning syd for Saint-Émilion by. Dette superterroir har været certificeret økologisk siden 2013 og biodynamisk siden 2020. Vineriet er topmoderne, og der modtages ønologisk konsulentbistand fra 100-point-stjernen Michel Rolland.
