Den her Pomerol-kvalitet til under 500 kr.?? Clos du Clocher 2020 er simpelthen for vild!

The Wine Cellar Insider, der har hyldet Clos du Clocher for støt stigende kvalitet siden 2009, har næppe nogensinde smagt vinen bedre end i netop superårgangen 2020.

Med prima beliggende marker, og med mere end 100 år gamle Cabernet Franc-vinstokke (nogle af de ældste i hele Bordeaux!), har potentialet fra starten været enormt. En gennemgribende rennovering af vinificeringsudstyret samt opførelsen af en ny fadkælder har været medvirkende årsager til at give kvaliteten det sidste push op mod Pomerols absolutte elite.

Clos du Clocher råder over 4,6 hektar i Pomerol. En del af terroirets druer går til andenvinen Monregard la Croix. Kun de allerbedste parceller, nær eksklusive Latour Pomerol, La Fleur Pétrus og Trotanoy, yder frugt til denne “Grand Vin”. 

I kælderen tryller Pomerol-legenden Michel Rolland, der lader Clos du Clocher forkæle 16-20 måneder på 60 % nye barriquefade.

“Herbal-edged raspberries and red cherries, bramble elements, coffee, tobacco, clove, dark chocolate., violets, roses and dark berries on the nose. Silky but sleek, rich but firm, this has a focus to it straight away, crushed velvet tannins give the cushioning but with a cool blue and black fruit and wet stone, mineral grip that expands in the mouth. Still a little closed, this is knitted down - you get the power and the concentration - there's density but it's waiting and taking its time. A little strict but there is a pixelation of elements with lots of freshness. Just shy right now, this will grow into a beauty. Well executed and deliberate. Concentrated and classy with incredible length. Ageing 15 months, 60% new oak.”
