Bag Chateau Fonplégade Grand Cru Classé står amerikanske Denise Adams, som sideløbende driver velrennomérede Chateau L'Enclos (Pomerol) samt økologiske White Cottage Winery (Napa Valley).
Flagskibet i porteføljen er dog Fonplégade, som Denise Adams, sammen med sin nu afdøde ægtemand Stephen, siden 2004 har ført op i St.-Émilions øverste liga.
Beplantningstætheden er øget til 8.400 stokke pr hektar og udbyttet sænket til 30 hl/ha. Røddernes skærpede kamp om vand og næringsstoffer giver færre og mindre druer – af langt højere kvalitet.
Fonplegades 18,5 hektar er perfekt beliggende nær legendariske Pavie og Ausone på den historiske skråning syd for Saint-Émilion by. Dette superterroir har været certificeret økologisk siden 2013 og biodynamisk siden 2020. Vineriet er topmoderne, og der modtages ønologisk konsulentbistand fra 100-point-stjernen Michel Rolland.

On the palate it is fruity, discreetly tight and offers smoothness, a fine creaminess, gourmandize, a nice definition as well as finesse, precision and concentration. This wine expresses notes of juicy / fresh blackcurrant, juicy / fresh blackberry and more slightly fleshy / juicy purple plum associated with touches of raspberry, plum blossom, lily as well as hints of bean. tonka, mocha, blond tobacco as well as a subtle hint of toast and good bitterness (in the background).
