Essensen af legendariske 1er Grand Cru Classé Château Angelus – præsenteret i tidligere drikkeklar og betydeligt mindre bekostelig udgave!

Det er ikke uden grund, at en anmelder kalder "Carillon" for ”Grand Cru Classé level”, og i topåret 2022 peaker vinens kvalitet på sit nok højeste niveau hidtil.

90% Merlot og 10% Cabernet Franc er høstet over en periode på over 3 uger, da hver eneste drue skal håndplukkes ved sin optimale smagsmæssige modenhed.

Efter endt gæring omstikkes vinen til 16-18 måneders Grand Cru Classé-style fadmodning på eksklusive 225 liters ”medium roast” franske barriques. 60 % helt nye og 40 % 1 år gamle.

Resultatet er en Saint-Émilion i så brillant kvalitet, at betegnelsen ”andenvin” reelt er totalt misvisende. Som Jeb Dunnuck retvisende konstaterer: “It's a brilliant second wine from this team that has the class of a Grand Vin.”

“Scented red berries on the nose, creamy, floral, perfumed, juicy and fresh, with savoury herbal aspects too. Sleek and so refined, this is fresh and captivating but with weight and density. Mouthwatering acidity gives the life and the spark straight away, with firm but fresh and cool tannins supporting the fruit, present but not too much, giving the frame and the nuance. Tannin management is excellent with blue fruits, liquorice and subtle sweet tobacco notes. Bright, shining and sleek, this is both juicy and layered, mineral and fruity, while retaining freshness and bite. Leaves a lingering impression and has great ageing potential.”

Om Château Angélus

Ch. Angelus har navn efter lyden af kirkeklokker, som i gamle dage kunne høres på slottets vinmarker.

Familien de Boüard, der ejer Château Angelus, har været i Bordeaux i 700 år. Som vinslot er Angelus dog af nyere dato, og det var først med Hubert de Boüards overtagelse i 1989, at Angelus for alvor gav lyd fra sig.

Den kvalitetsfanatiske Hubert, universitetsuddannet under berømte Émile Peynaud, begrænser høstudbyttet ved grøn høst og fremmer druemodningen/fotosyntesen ved at øge løvvæggens areal.

Lanceringen af tredjevinen ”N° 3 d’Angelus” i 2007 har fået kvaliteten af slottets to topvine helt op at ringe:

Siden 2012 er hovedvinen fra Angelus én af blot fire vine med klassifikationen 1er Grand Cru Classé A. Slottets frugtcharmerende 2. vin, Carillon d’Angelus, er forbløffende lækker og flot anmeldt.
