“The nose is aromatic, powerful and offers a fine grain as well as elegance. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, cornflower, small black fruits, small notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of pepper, spices, lily as well as fine touches of camphor, a subtle hint of ripe hazelnut and mild tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, juiciness, gourmandize, a beautiful bright fruit, a beautiful tension as well as deepness, gourmandize, concentration and sense of the place. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright Boysen berry, strawberry, small notes of violet, lily associated with touches of camphor, sugared mild tobacco, mocha/chocolate and fresh hazelnut. Good length. Tannins are elegant, racy and coating.”

Chateau Faugeres’ vej mod verdenseliten har været kometagtig. I 2012 blev såvel Chateau Faugeres [andenvin: Haut Faugeres] samt Chateau Peby Faugeres [andenvin: La Merle de Péby Faugères] forfremmet til Grand Cru Classé. Og i 2015 fulgte så den foreløbige kulmination – den forjættede 100/100 score fra selveste Robert Parker.
