”Although its location, its terroir and its reputation largely deserved to be included in the 1855 classification, the Toulouse-Lautrec family, owners of Siran, legitimists and faithful to their family tradition, had declined the invitation to be included in this “Bonapartist classification” – Château Siran
94/100 Wine Enthusiast
“This luscious, ripe wine is both balanced and generous. Acidity comes from the freshness of the vintage, bringing out fruitiness to complement the tannins. The wine will develop well.”
94/100 La Revue du Vin de France
"Close to the fruit, with tannins of admirable delicacy and a mouth that stretches finely, the 2017 is a truly delicious and very seductive wine. Nonetheless, it has great aging potential."
93/100 Antonio Galloni
“The 2017 Siran has turned out beautifully. Dark and rich with tons of nuance, Siran is super expressive in 2017 in the mid-weight style of the vintage. Wild cherry, plum, dried flowers, mint, tobacco and smoke are all laced together in this pretty, inviting Margaux.”
92/100 James Suckling
“A tight, linear 2017 with compact fruit and seamless tannins that show length and beauty. Medium to full body. Lovely finish.”
92/100 Decanter
“This is rather lovely, with excellent aromatics and fine tannins with a feeling of flex and precision. There is no question that the fruit has form and density, with focussed cassis and tobacco notes and some slate. This also lasts well on the palate. The fruit is at the fresher end of the scale, as is true across most wines in 2017, but it's clearly successful. Hubert de Boüard is consultant at this estate, owned by Edouard Miailhe with winemaker Marjolaine DeFrance. There was no frost here, and the season was two weeks ahead of normal. Harvested 19 September to 5 October.Drinking Window 2024 – 2038”

“The 2017 Château Siran should certainly be an outstanding wine. Giving up lots of black fruits, charcoal, and graphite notes, it’s medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and with solid ripeness and depth. It’s an impressive effort from Margaux.”
90-93/100 Wine Spectator
“Sleek, with dark cherry and plum pâte de fruit notes stretched out over a licorice thread. Offers an elegant, spice-infused finish”
90-92/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
“Cherry blossom, licorice, espresso and ripe plums get the medium bodied wine off to a good start. It's the blend of sweet, red fruits, soft, polished tannins and acidity that create the personality. You'll be able to enjoy this while waiting for the 2015 and 2016 to mature. The wine was made from blending 46% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. The harvest took place from September 18 to October 5 and he wine reached 13.5% alcohol.”
