This wine already shows a luscious side with its ripe black fruits and rich tannins. The obverse shows structure and acidity. Both these elements will together give a wine for aging.

Flowers, dark, red pit fruits, mint, and just a hint of chocolate create the perfume. The wine is silky, fresh, plush and polished with an elegant, vibrant finish that does not want to quit. This is already stellar in your glass, and with some time in the cellar, it is only going to get better with age. Drink from 2024-2047.

Decanter

Ripe and deeply scented on the nose and palate, a lingering florality follows the dark black fruits from start to finish. This has a lovely richness, more textural depth than some with salty, liquorice and wet stone tannins that support the fruit and give the frame. Rich and intense but so sleek. Super glamour on show, but elegant in its presentation. Definitely mineral, a salty coolness on the finish but textured tannins giving an appealing chalkiness too. Bold but restrained and super refreshing. A great wine.

Pure, intense and refined nose showing wild raspberry, violet and some darker fruit notes with stylish oak, a rather Burgundian, and supple texture with fine roundness elegance and length.

The 2020 Prieuré-Lichine is elegant and nuanced, just as it was en primeur. Even so, I had hoped to see another step forward in this vintage, and it's just not there. For example, the aromatics aren't quite as focused as they could be. Prieuré-Lichine is still a very good wine, but it is not all it could be.

Falstaff

Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, deep core, delicate edge lightening. Delicately floral, ripe plums, hint of chocolate, a hint of cloves and candied orange zest. Juicy, ripe cherries, subtle sweetness, present, integrated tannins, some nougat in the aftertaste, has a powerful effect, a full-bodied food wine with future prospects

Vinum

Waits once more with special charm, with precise fruit expression, tannins with a silky finish and ideal proportions without being overweight; illustrates again this year what Margaux means. 94-95 points within reach.
