Pomerol for fans af Cabernet Franc! Her til en helt unik krisepris som vi har kunnet forhandle på en lille rest fra Château Ferrand. Du kan bare google og se, hvad disse flasker normalt koster. Den her pris er for vild.

Familien Gasparoux har stået i spidsen for denne value-for-money perle i Pomerol siden 1934, hvor Fernand Gasparoux fandt og købte sit drømme-terroir på sølle 3,5 hektar. To generationer senere er ejendommen vokset til 12 hektar, hvoraf flere er gunstigt beliggende på Pomerols eksklusive og sagnomspundne plateau.

Som konsekvens af terroiret og familens strenge kvalitetsfokus hører Ferrand i dag til blandt de bedste køb fra højrebreddens mest eksklusive vindistrikt.

Al høst og drueudvælgelse foregår ved håndkraft. Andelen af ny eg er nøje doceret og den modner således ”kun” på en tredjedel nye franske barriques for at bevare den elegante struktur.

En vidunderligt parfumeret og tidligt drikkeklar Pomerol - takket være vinens høje andel af Cabernet Franc! Tør man hviske "mini-Cheval Blanc"..?

“The nose is fresh, racy and reveals a floral character. There are notes of juicy blackberry, blueberry and a hint of graphite combined with bright blue berries, tart cherry and a hint of liquorice. The palate is mineral, racy, balanced and offers graphite/pencil lead, tension and minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, pulpy/fresh blue berries and more lightly blueberry combined with hints of lily, liquorice, a hint of ripe/fresh red berries as well as a subtle hint of graphite and toast and a subtle hint almost of chocolate (in the background). Supple on the palate. The tannins are well managed. Subtle chewiness on the finish.”

This shows aromas of plums and blueberries with milk chocolate, hazelnuts and crushed violets. Some crushed stones, too. Full-bodied with firm tannins that continue to build up throughout the palate. Deep core of ripe black and blue fruit. Chewy and tight, this needs some time to settle together. Lingering finish with hints of blue flowers.

On the nose, fruity, distinguished and offers a little chiseled edge, energy, a fine floral edge as well as a fine and very discreetly tight grain. It reveals notes of blackberry, wild raspberry and slightly wild berries combined with hints of graphite, pulpy blueberry, peppercorns as well as fine vanilla, cardamom, discrete toasted and incense notes. On the palate, fruity, balanced (nice balance) and offers a juicy/acidic frame, a distinguished minerality, richness in balance, a nice freshness, suavity, roundness, a good definition, a fine floral side and a discreet tight character. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy wild blackberry, bursting black currant and ripe/acidic blueberry tocuhes combined with hints of small black berries, gray pepper, graphite/incense and fine vanilla. The tannins are fine, straight, precise and mellow. Good length.
