93-95/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
“Quite floral in nature, the wine is elegant, fresh, soft, and silky. The fruits are vibrant, fresh, and supple, finishing with black plums, espresso, chocolate, and minty nuances.”
94+/100 Markus Del Monego MW
94/100 Decanter
“Rich and beautifully textured, this has nice appeal with subtle density to the concentrated fruits but with fine and firm tannins that give a cool refreshing aspect. Doesn't quite give the excitement and vibrancy of some, but this is really well worked, clearly defined and detailed with balance and a push of fruit. Loses a bit of punch on the finish with some stalky, herbal notes.”
94/100 Falstaff
“Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge lightening. Fresh heart cherries, plums, some nougat and orange zest, inviting bouquet. Juicy, ripe plums, subtle acidity, fine fruit sweetness, already developed, a charming food accompaniment.”
93-94/100 James Suckling
“This is meaty and structured with firm tannins and deep dark fruit underneath. Impressive volume and length. Full-bodied and long. Very cabernet franc here. Could be best ever.”

92-94/100 Antonio Galloni
“The 2022 La Tour Figeac is a super-classic wine from this sector within Saint-Émilion. Linear and precise, with striking aromatic presence La Tour Figeac bristles with tension from start to finish. White pepper, chalk, tobacco and dried herbs lend notable aromatic presence. La Tour Figeac could very well turn out to be one of the Sleepers of the year. Tasted two times. Drinking window : 2027-2047”
92-94/100 The Wine Independent
“The 2022 La Tour Figeac, 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It has a beautiful perfume of violets and licorice giving way to a core of baked red and black plums and stewed cherries. The full-bodied palate is plush and harmonious, with just enough freshness to support the generous fruit, finishing gracefully. This is nicely done!”
92-94/100 VV Wine
“Very fragrant, lots of raspberries, the wood is present, not overpowering, plus whipped cream and cherries. Fruity on the palate, juicy, structured, the wine has energy, shows balance and a very good length on the finish. “
93/100 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
“Chocolate block, rosemary, cracked pepper, this has spicy depths and a rich texture. A big St Emilion in a big vintage, with black cherry and damson fruit balanced by rosemary and sage herbal notes, stays just on the right side of controlled, and on the right side of heat. A little closed on the finish with a dash of bitter aniseed, but that is entirely in line with this type of construction, and will soften over ageing. Juice on the close of play. 40% new barrels.”
91-93/100 Robert Parker
“A blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc (vinified with some whole bunch), the 2022 La Tour Figeac bursts with aromas of plums, raspberries, orange zest, spices and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, suave and elegant, it's a seamless, lively and perfumed wine that will delight Bordeaux purists.”
91-93/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“A pretty, elegant, forward effort (which is what this terroir always seems to yield), the 2022 Château La Tour Figeac has lots of up-front red and black fruits that give way to more tobacco, loamy soil, and baking spice-like nuances with time in the glass. It's not massive but shines for its balance and complexity, and it has ripe tannins and is loaded with charm. It should drink nicely right out of the gate, yet I suspect it will have 15+ years of prime drinking. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes.”
91-93/100 The Drinks Business
“Somewhat soupy and a little blitzed after the more precise focus of Soutard and Larmande. It’s fine, floral, but the fruit feels more pulped and blended, lacking delineation and definition in comparison. I like, however, the cool minty-leafy finish. Fine and good if upstaged by some of its peers, those tannins shading towards the dry-side on the finish. 91-93.”
