Aromatic depth, great freshness and excellent length coming together, creating the most elegant Angélus ever tasted en primeur.”

“Supple damson fruits, I love the aromatics on this and the striking fruits. Silky in texture, balanced and elegant, there are big tannins that slowly but surely creep up on you through the palate. This is a sleek, poised, and confidently-constructed Angélus, with depth to the olive, chocolate, cassis body and a crushed mint leaf kiss on the finish. As often with this vintage it is not an exuberant hug, it is more about discreet power and gorgeous stealing-up of flavours and textures giving depth and subtle power. 3.62pH, aged in large sized oak cass and oak barrels. A yield of 37hl/ha.”

”Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle brightening of the edges. Fresh red forest berries, red currants, fine herbal spices, a touch of precious wood, a floral touch of rose oil, violets, orange zest are highlighted. Juicy red cherry fruit, peppery texture, freshly structured, a hint of black tea, mineral, looks light-footed, has good length and sure development potential, a subtle Angélus that fits in wonderfully with the trilogy of recent years.”

Ch. Angelus har navn efter lyden af kirkeklokker, som i gamle dage kunne høres på slottets vinmarker.
Familien de Boüard, der ejer Château Angelus, har været i Bordeaux i 700 år. Som vinslot er Angelus dog af nyere dato, og det var først med Hubert de Boüards overtagelse i 1989, at Angelus for alvor gav lyd fra sig.
Den kvalitetsfanatiske Hubert, universitetsuddannet under berømte Émile Peynaud, begrænser høstudbyttet ved grøn høst og fremmer druemodningen/fotosyntesen ved at øge løvvæggens areal.
Lanceringen af tredjevinen ”N° 3 d’Angelus” i 2007 har fået kvaliteten af slottets to topvine helt op at ringe:
Siden 2012 er hovedvinen fra Angelus én af blot fire vine med klassifikationen 1er Grand Cru Classé A. Slottets frugtcharmerende 2. vin, Carillon d’Angelus, er forbløffende lækker og flot anmeldt.
