Trods et terroir i indiskutabel verdensklasse forblev Quintessa Vineyard i Rutherford på mirakuløs vis ubeplantet helt til frem til 1989 - hvor chilensk fødte Valeria Huneeus fik sine heldige fingre i den skujlte Napa-perle!

Over de følgende knapt tre årtier har familien Huneeus opnået kultstatus med sit biodynamiske og Cabernet Sauvignon-dominerede bordeauxblend, Quintessa, der i årgang 2018 endelig har opnået perfekte 100 point!

"This is beautifully polished with firm, dusty tannins to the blue fruit, as well as chocolate and cedar character. Some much earthier character, too, from mushrooms to bark. Forest flowers. Perfumed. It’s full-bodied with round tannins and a soft, creamy finish. Some iron and iodine to this. So attractive at the finish. From biodynamically grown grapes."
