93-94/100 James Suckling
Blackcurrants and blueberries with violets and other flowers. Medium to full body. Tight and compacted with linear tannins at the end. Intense and structured second wine. 49% merlot, 46% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot. Made from organically grown grapes.
92-93/100 Alexandre Ma
Fleur de Pédesclaux always exudes a delicate and fragrant aura, as if a myriad of tiny flowers is gently brushing against your nose. Despite the dry and scorching weather of the year, this high-Merlot blend manages to maintain a refreshing acidity. Unlike other wines that strive for “small and exquisite”, it does not forget to sprinkle some aromatic roasted almonds and fine tannins at the finish. Among a sea of easy-drinking wines, Fleur de Pédesclaux is sure to stand out.
91/100 Jane Anson
Intense and layered, with blueberry, damson, cocoa bean, raspberry puree, pomegranate, a pretty serious but seriously enjoyable 2nd wine. Harvest September 12 to 27. 44% 2nd wine. Last year organic conversion. 3.79ph. Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen director. 35% new oak.
91-100 Decanter
Fruity and open on the nose. Nice intensity and structure, lively and straight In the mouth with overall balance. A touch light, but so easy to drink with real Cabernet signature. Feels well worked, not massively layered but delivers an enjoyable glass of wine with cool freshness and refinement. Total acidity: 3.6. 35% new oak barrels. 3.79pH.
