As I taste Château Nénin 2022, it feel as if layers of cascading violet petals are tenderly brushing against my cheeks. Overflowing with fruitiness, its delicate finesse and crystalline acidity evoke the heartstrings like a melody. A subtle graphite note enshrouds the entire body in a dark purple robe, while the bright flavors of ripe black plums and mulberries provide brilliance on the palate. Following the vintage of 2019 and 2020, Château Nénin has once again orchestrated a resplendent symphony in 2022, compelling us to rise and applaud its exquisite beauty

A blend of 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Nenin is deep garnet-purple in color. It skips out of the glass with bright, vivacious notes of kirsch, black cherry compote, and juicy plums, plus touches of garrigue, star anise, and Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is plush and soft spoken, with layers of fragrant black fruit and a long spicy finish.

Intensely fragrant and floral, ripe fruit with milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, roses, violets and strawberries. Juicy and slender, this is sleek and beautifully supple on the palate, moving with grace and depth but not heavy or too rich. There’s an intensity to the fruit flavours though, with hints of liquorice, clove and cedar, not a light easy wine, there’s power and concentration but so well delivered with balanced acidity. Long finish with lingering clarity. 3.69pH. 65IPT. A yield of 33hl/ha.

Based on 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Franc, this is another concentrated, inky-hued, powerful 2022 that's going to demand bottle age.

The 2022 Nénin is terrific. Pliant, rich and creamy in the glass, the 2022 is a formidable example of the year. Soft, plush contours wrap around a core of red/purplish berry fruit. Touches of blood orange, mint, cinnamon and rose petal lend nuance to this sensual, alluring Pomerol from the Delon family. The 2022 is beautifully done. Drinking window : 2028-2042
