I marvel at how Suduiraut can deliver so much flavor intensity and yet remain so gracious and classy. The 140 grams of residual sugar are very well integrated. This is such a gorgeous wine."

Bag om Château Suduiraut, Sauternes

Altid blandt de tætteste forfølgere til verdens største søde vin, næsten-naboen Château d’Yquem. Vinen Suduiraut er så nobel og elegant som sin slotsbygning fra 1670.

Suduiraut led et kvalitetsmæssigt dyk i 1970’erne (og til dels i 80’erne), men har i de seneste årgange været i forrygende form.

Forandringen tilskrives AXA Millésimes og manager Pierre Montégut, der siden 1992 har genindført lavt høstudbytte, talrige høstrunder (i jagten på druer med ædelråd) samt gæring og modning på egetræsfade (heraf 50% nye).

Siden lanceringen af 2. vinen ”Les Lions” indgår kun de fineste druer i Suduirauts ”Grand Vin”.
