"94 points. A firm and structured Pomerol with chocolate and dark berries as well as black truffle character. Some salty undertones. Lightly chewy." - James Suckling
"93 points. Supple and lean, excellently textured though, straight and sharp with bite and tang to the fruits but carefully controlled leaving you wanting more. " - Decanter
"93 points. Always a fan of this wine, and it is one to look out for in 2022, salty lick of limestone evident through the palate, really enjoyable fresh red fruits, ripe and generous but with a sense of restraint, skilful winemaking. " - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

"Ripe and cool blue fruits on the nose with an appealing salty minerality. Supple and lean, excellently textured though, straight and sharp with bite and tang to the fruits but carefully controlled leaving you wanting more. Great energy, bounce and freshness. Really enjoyable if super clean, lean and austere right now in the powdery sensation that's left on the tongue as well as the oyster shell minerality. Easy drinking with elegance and an appealing juicy kick on the finish. Tasted twice. Harvest 7 - 29 September. Ageing; 16 - 18 months; 30% new barrel, 30% old barrel, 20% cement. Derenoncourt consultants."

Ripe red and black fruits, savory herbs, truffle, and new leather notes all shine in the 2022 Château Puygueraud, a balanced, charming, beautifully textured 2022 that's already hard to resist. It's well worth seeking out and will be a smoking good Bordeaux to drink over the coming decade. It's another gorgeous wine from Nicolas Thienpont.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
"Leafy herbs, spices, flowers, wet earth and cherries are at the center of the nose and character of the wine. On the palate, it is the freshness, length and cut stone minerality that stand out, starting from the mid-palate, and carrying through to the finish. The wine blends 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2025-2037."
