"Intense golden colour. Excellent nose with aroma reminiscent of candied Angelica, candied lemon peel, ripe pineapple and Williams pear, discreet spiciness in the background. On the palate rich in a rather opulent style yet with a lot of freshness. Pear and pineapple as well as mild spices on the palate. Wine with precision, typicity as well as excellent depth and length."

Clean and pure on the palate, coupled with crisp and bright acidity, it recreates the spiciness of ginger and parsley seed deep in your mouth. The taste of icy sour plum, luscious but not cloying, really touches me. It is a high-quality Coutet in recent vintages."

"The 2021 Coutet needs time to cohere in the glass, eventually offering scents of dried honey, pressed flowers and quince. It just needs a little more pizzazz. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity and good weight and tension, showing the energy that is slightly lacking on the nose at the moment. Maybe it could benefit from more unctuousness on the finish, but this remains an enjoyable Barsac that will gain complexity with bottle age."
