I anledningen af sin 265 års fødselsdag lancerer verdensberømte Real Companhia Velha denne ultimative og ultrasjældne kollektion af tudsegamle Tawny Port-vine.

Vi taler rene skatkammervine fra tre af det tyvende århundredes største årgange… 1927, 1908 og 1900. Vi taler de mest eksklusive fade fra de dybeste afkroge af det gamle kongelige kompagnis vinkældre i Vila Nova de Gaia og Quinta das Carvalhas. The 1927 is one of three Colheitas being released to celebrate the 265th anniversary of RCV (the others are 1908 and 1900). Red-mahogany in hue, this has wonderfully lifted delicate aromas, floral with an underlying hint of toast; sumptuously rich and sweet with crystallised fruit, a touch of smooth butterscotch and a hint of spice and ginger, long and still remarkably lithe on the finish. Testament to an outstanding year”

Real Companhia Velha blev grundlagt helt tilbage i 1756. I hele 266 år er der blevet lavet portvin under selskabets navn, der efterhånden har udviklet et verdensomspændende ry for sine portvine i den øverste liga. Foretagendet ejer nogle af de fineste Quintas (ejendomme) i Douro-dalen, heraf flere i A-klassen (den højeste placering inden for klassifikationen), og så er det måske knap så overraskende, at nogle af verdens bedste portvine er skabt under Real Companhia Velhas faner.

Selskabet blev førhen kaldt ’’Royal Oporto Wine Company’’ på grund af sine kongelige rødder, da det blev grundlagt af ’’The Royal Charter’’ med henblik på at opretholde og fremme vindyrkning i Douro-dalen til gavn for landbruget, handlen og folkesundheden. Real Companhia Velha er en historisk portvinsproducent med mere end 750 hektar, hvor nogle af verdens bedste portvine stammer fra!
